The 11th most populous city in the U.S. state of Colorado and the most populous city of Boulder Country and also the country seat is Boulder. It is located at the base of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 5,430 feet and the city is 25 miles northwest of Denver. From Denver International Airport it is just under an hour’s drive. And also an hour’s drive to Estes Park, gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. The entire region is good for hiking, cycling, rock climbing and almost every kind of outdoor activity except surfing. Famous for its status as one of the most liberal cities in Colorado, it has been the choice destination for hippies in the late 1960s and the home of the main campus of the University of Colorado which is the largest university. And also the city of Boulder always acquires top rankings in health, well-being, quality of life and education and art. Boulder has seven official sister cities. These are Dushanbe, Tajikistan; Jalapa, Nicaragua; Lhasa, Tibet; Ciudad Mante, Mexico; Yamagata, Japan; Yateras, Cuba; Kisimu, Kenya.

You can found much action in the downtown district of Boulder. Chautauqua Park becomes t he place to hang out during Colorado’s sunny summer where attractions include regular performances by the Boulder Symphony Orchestra. It is a small and beautiful park, nestled at the western end of the Baseline Road and at the very based of the Flatirons. The hiking trails lead in different direction around Chautauqua Park, reaching attractions like the Gregory Canyon and also the Flagstaff Mountain. And in the winter the crowds of locals and tourists go there with their sleds and heads to the Flatirons. The major draw card or the attractions in Colorado is the hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing and many other seasonal outdoor tourist attractions and activities, with the paved and traffic-free Boulder Creek Trail being amongst the best available routes. It leads through parks, play areas and next the creek itself, skirting the Pearl Street Mall area along the way. Colorado Ski Resorts that is famously expensive in the winter offer good vacation value in the summer. Fiske Planetarium is located on the campus of Boulder’s University of Colorado and contains a wealth of astronomical attractions for stargazers. The weather here is sunny and dry most of the time.

If you want to go to Boulder you should have extra money because lodging in Boulder is rather expensive. This is the price of living in a beautiful, fashionable and prosperous place. And if you get closer to Boulder’s vibrant downtown it gets more expensive. A charming rustic motel at the foot of Boulder Canyon, Foot of the Mountain Motel is just 12 minutes walk from downtown Boulder. It is a very reasonable rates for Boulder. It doesn’t have air conditioning, this will be a big issue during occasional heat waves around June till September. Other recommended lodging are Hotel Boulderado, St. Julien Hotel & Spa, Boulder University Inn, The Bradley Inn and many others.
